From the earliest days of glass plate emulsions through to today’s digital cameras, artists have recorded and reflected the beauty and diversity of life on our planet. Historically, landscape photographers like Carleton Watkins inspired the creation of US National Parks. Ansel Adams continued that work and inspired generations of landscape photographers through his luminous and sophisticated landscape imagery. In the 1970s, this work became the mission of Conservation photographers.
