In fact, it’s the everyday that matters most. It’s who you are every day that defines you. Not the labels and stereotypes often seen in media and advertising. It’s why representation matters. Why celebrating the everyday is about celebrating life through the lens of people within the LGBTQ+ community — as creators, storytellers, and subjects.
What happens when you center on the everyday? You find the view from within that covers the full spectrum of representation, gender expression, and identities. You show life in its everyday moments across a community that’s as varied and full of individual expression as any other.
For marketers and brands running Pride campaigns — ask yourself if your view of Pride is true-to-life. Are you showing the outside view of Pride as rainbows and marches, focusing on the same performative imagery year after year?
