### Agenda

Beneath every creative decision is a question of relation: who something is by and for; what it stands with or against; what it points toward or away from. In language, prepositions are the small, boring, functional words that structure these relationships—not much use as keywords, but essential to understanding an image is more than the sum of its searchable parts. In this webinar, we put those prepositions to work across authorship, audience, context and culture, looking at how formal and contextual choices turn familiar subjects into very different statements about work, family, technology, value and belonging.

Date:
October 22, 2026

Time:
8am PST | 11am EST | 4pm GMT

What we'll cover:

Using prepositions as a practical framework for creating and choosing images.

Why intimacy—not attention—is becoming the more valuable currency.

A conversation between a creative director and commercial photographer about how these relationships take shape in the brief, on set and in the edit.

### FAQs

Who is this webinar for ?

This event is for anyone responsible for making, commissioning, choosing or making sense of images—including designers, marketers, art directors, photographers, content strategists and brand teams. If your work involves deciding not only what an image should show, but what it should communicate, this webinar is for you. Creative directors, art directors, designers, brand and content strategists, photo editors, and anyone who briefs, searches for, or selects imagery. If you've ever had the right keywords and still not found the right picture, this session is for you.

**Why does a deep dive into visual storytelling matter in 2027?**

We are not short of images. The harder task is choosing and creating ones that can hold attention, earn trust and feel meaningfully addressed to an audience. As visual production accelerates, the relationships around an image—who made it, who it is for, what it appears beside and what it leaves out—become part of the story itself.

**Will there be a recording of the webinar?**
Yes. Everyone who registers will receive a link to the recording after the live event, so you can watch it later or return to particular sections.

**What makes this webinar different from other trend reports?**

First, it isn’t really a trend report. Rather than presenting a list of aesthetics destined to age before the year is out, *Existential Grammar* offers a durable framework for understanding how images create meaning. It draws on the perspectives of Stocksy’s global cooperative of visual artists, editors and curators—the people making, selecting and studying images every day.
