February 4, 2022
Last December, we found ourselves auditing our impulse to engage cultural shifts in our social channels. Initially, tuning into and publicly acknowledging them felt appropriate for Stocksy’s scope of influence, but our sense of responsibility to recognize, identify, and engage these shifts has since evolved.
“Evolved,” in this sense, doesn’t mean we’ve arrived at a place of total clarity. We’ve come to fewer conclusions than we’d anticipated in this process, and we’re still learning how to be comfortable in this liminal space–a space, which, starting this month, we’d love to share with you.
Throughout February, we’ll be sharing content by or focused on Black people making history today. While this month offers us an opportunity to reflect on our individual relationships to Black history, we also recognize that this is a year-round life-affirming practice–not to be done solely in memoriam, or during a specific timeframe.
We’ve invited our audience to share related content in the form of links, which will be added to ours and organized here throughout the month.
Our hope is that by the end of the month, at the very least, we’ve exchanged knowledge and let you in on a bit of what we’re thinking about right now and vice versa. But at best, perhaps together we’re forging a link to a more accurate, intersectional, and inclusive future.
